We are confident that your child will find this year both
challenging
and rewarding. We are looking forward to working with each and every
one of you. PLEASE KEEP this handbook so you can refer to it
throughout
the year.
Our goal is to help each student realize their potential and gain
confidence,
strength, poise, and coordination through disciplined exercise. Our
success
is predicated on mutual assistance, respect, and diligent effort
between our
team of teachers, students, and parents. Our aim is to "please".
All classes are 55 minutes long with the exception of Kinderdance
and
Kinder-gym which are 45 minutes long.
Registration Fee
Please be reminded that your registration fee is due today along
with the first
month's tuition and competition class fees. The registration fee is
$35 for the
first student and $15 for each additional student.
Tuition
Tuition is based on a season total which can be paid in 8
monthly installments.
The first seven installments will be the same regardless of the
number of weeks
in the month. The last installment will be greater than the
previous 7 because
it will cover 6 weeks instead of a month. All classes must be paid
in advance.
Tuition is due on or before the first day of each month. If
you receive a bill,
your tuition is past due. A $10 late fee will be added on past
due accounts,
beginning the 2nd day of the month and will accumulate weekly until
your
tuition is current. When you make your payment the late fee will
be deducted
first. Vacations do not change when payments are due. If
necessary, your
payment may be mailed to:
Dance Unlimited Studio
226 Eastbrooke Pointe Drive
Mt Washington , KY 40047
Tuition can be paid by cash, check, Visa, or Master Card, or debit
with credit
card logo.
If for some reason your child can no longer continue classes, please
notify Joyce,
our book-keeper. You will be responsible for payment of all classes
until she has
been notified. Please note that the registration fee and 1st
months tuition are
non-refundable. Competition classes, please remember the $50 fee
is due by
September 30th. A $10 late fee will be added after September
30th. A minimum
enrollment for a class is 8 students. If enrollment falls below 8
students we
reserve the right to reschedule the class, transfer those students
and change
tuition. If you are unable to attend the new time, we will gladly
refund
tuition for any classes you have not received.
Returned Checks
There is a $25 fee for NSF checks or checks written on a closed
account. In
the event of a non-payment, checks will be turned over to a
collection agency
at which time you will be responsible for all costs incurred due to
collection.
We are charged by our bank for returned checks and you must cover
this fee.
Once we have received two returned checks, we will no longer accept
payment
by check.
Absenteeism
When you schedule classes and we hold a time and place for you,
those
classes, must be paid for whether you attend or not, this includes
private
classes. We will provide make-up times when feasible. Private
classes can
only be made up during a group class (no exceptions).
Snow or Ice Days
If in doubt as to whether we are holding classes or not, please call
the studio
number and a message will be left on the answering machine. The days
we
are closed are not always the same as the local schools, as weather
tends to
worsen as nighttime approaches. We do not deduct from tuition for
snow
days, however, all students are welcome to make-up any classes that
are
missed due to snow.
Visitors
No visitors are allowed in the dance rooms during class, including
parents.
We find visitors can often be distracting to the students. There
are windows
in the waiting room, however the waiting rooms should remain
quiet.
Please be sure that any siblings waiting for a student remain seated
and quiet.
Conferences
If you or your child have a problem, our staff will be most happy to
talk to you
and work toward an amicable solution. It is not possible during
class but a time
can be set up for a conference. We ask everyone to be patient the
first month of
classes. Some classes may be larger than we anticipated and we
will try to move
students to different classes to eliminate this problem. Some
students will need to
be moved because of their ability. It is a difficult time and we
ask for your patience.
Please do not try to talk to teachers between classes, it causes
them to be late to their
next class.
Bulletin Boards
We encourage parents to check in on their student's classes
regularly and to check
the bulletin board for updated information. If your child is absent,
or someone brings
your child, it is the PARENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to check for new
information.
Footnotes
"Footnotes" our monthly newsletter will be available monthly in the
office.
Please be sure you pick one up and read the information.
Competition Classes
If you are planning on participating in competition classes, here
are a few things
you need to know:
*
The competition class fee of $50 per student will cover the cost of
long distance
phone calls (to ask directors questions), the time taken to fill
out forms, and collecting
the competition fees and used for expenses to run a
competition
class.
*
Technique classes will be required in addition to your regular
classes. They will be
offered on more than one day and you will be required to attend at
least one of these
days. Payment for these classes will be at the same rate as the
regular classes.
*
If you feel a competition class/team is for you, then please know
that in addition
to these financial commitments you will be expected to work hard,
and be dedicated,
not just for yourself, but the others in your class as well. Also,
if we choose to go to
a competition or convention, (whether regional or national) you are
expected to
participate. Students in a competition class/team divide the costs
of the teachers/
coaches expenses to nationals.
*
All competition fees MUST BE PAID 5 WEEKS BEFORE THE ACTUAL
COMPETITION DATES.
*
Competition students are required to wear black leotards and black
tights.
Costumes
A deposit of $50 per one hour class must be paid by November 1st of
each year.
If a student takes more than one hour of instruction and chooses
not to do a
particular routine, please notify the office as soon as possible.
Whenever feasible,
we try to use a "two in one" costume for combination classes.
Costume prices do
not include tights and shoes. The instructor will make the
decision as to color of
tights and shoes. Shoes can be painted to achieve required color.
It is the parent's
responsibility to contact the teacher or check the bulletin board
for these instructions.
(This information will not be sent home)
The only other expense as far as costumes go may be ribbon for shoes
and hair.
The cost for this has never exceeded $10. All costumes must be
paid in full before
December 1st. Paying your balance in full guarantees you being
ordered a costume,
a down payment does not. Tuition must be current before costumes
will be handed
out. A necessary part of every costume is for everyone to wear
makeup during
performance. Under stage lights this helps to enhance every
student's natural
beauty.
Recital Fee/Tickets
A recital fee of $5 for mini recital is due by Nov. 1st. A recital
fee of $50 is due March
1st each year. The recital fee is used to produce the recital by
paying for scenery,
rental of equipment, etc. All students are invited to
participate. However, participation
in the recital is not mandatory and students who commit themselves
to dance in the
recital MUST attend the dress rehearsal. Please do not commit to
any other activities
on the day of dress rehearsal. We produce a quality program that we
offer at recital.
There is a charge for this program if you choose to purchase one.
Dancewear Items
Dance shoes can be ordered through us, at Vibes or Kinney's. There
are several
different styles so please check with your instructor as to what
you may need.
